Meet California's #1 Blader - Jacob Pomegranate

The end of 2025 Marks a truly tremendous milestone for Beyblade X. After hosting the Anime Expo National qualifier, The Los Angeles community came together to host yet another huge Beyblade Tournament consisting of 140 players in the Fashion District of LA at the ARK/8 clothing store.
This tournament also was the catalyst for Beyblade X’s growth and a celebration to the Beyblade X club circuit. The winner of the event was none other than Los Angeles local, Jacob Pomegranate. He plowed through the Swiss stage event and despite a treacherous top cut bracket pulled off the most memorable win in Beyblade’s history.
We got the chance to interview him and get his strategy and combo plan that helped him become victorious in the biggest tournament in North America this year:
“Hey everyone! First I want to say how amazing of an opportunity it is to be here and get the chance to participate at the largest event of the year. Beyblade X means the world to me, and going into this event I was away at the UCR Palm Desert MFA writing program for 10 days. Despite being at school, I took each day to practice my launches and dial in for this tournament. I was planning to run different combos at first, but when I heard that my teammate Alek Yap was unable to attend the tournament I decided to homage him by putting his signature Beyblade in my deck. Shark Scale on the combo 1-70LR. As many players know, shark scale is an absolute beast and 1-70 gives it extra attack power while also allowing it to recover from the over finish pocket. My next two Beyblades are what completely represent me and have cemented the nickname of Jacob Hagane in reference to Gingka Hagane from Beyblade Metal fight. Pegasus Blast being my second choice with the assist blade Heavy on the combo 9-60K. It’s a complete machine that tanks hits and dishes them out with tremendous force. It’s the most aggressive balance type Beyblade in the game that allows it to get both spin finishes and over and Xtreme finishes. My last Beyblade, though, is what I am most known for. Aero Pegasus on the combo 1-60Rush. I have been using this combo for the last year and a half and it hasn’t failed me. It’s my ace and a Beyblade that represents my whole life. Overall, I couldn’t have done it without immense practice, strategy in which Beyblades I chose, and the community supporting me in my efforts to be the best. I’m just glad I can finally cement myself as the Number 1 player in California.”
